Volkswagen RNS 510 V17 Europe Maps

The Volkswagen RNS 510 was fitted to many Volkswagen Group vehicles and was also sold under names such as the Skoda Columbus. Its European V17 map release was divided into two packages: East Europe 8555 and West Europe 8557. These were the final European map updates released for this navigation platform.

East Europe 8555

East Europe 8555 is the V17 map package intended for the eastern European region. It is identified by Volkswagen part number 1T0 051 859 AR. Choose this version when the countries you need are covered by the eastern package.

West Europe 8557

West Europe 8557 is the corresponding V17 package for western Europe. Its Volkswagen part number is 1T0 051 859 AS. The two packages belong to the same map generation, but cover different regions, so select the version that best matches where you drive.

RNS Maps Tool 2.0.2

RNS Maps Tool 2.0.2 is an unofficial community utility that prepares RNS 510 map data for installation from an SD card. It creates the required SD-card structure and a small boot disc image that tells the navigation unit to copy the maps from the card to its internal hard drive. This method can be useful when the RNS 510 has difficulty reading a map DVD, but compatibility depends on the head unit and its installed firmware.

Before installing

Check that your navigation unit is an RNS 510 or a compatible equivalent before starting. Keep the vehicle on a stable power supply during the update and do not interrupt the installation. Use only map data that you are legally entitled to install. Any update is performed at your own risk.
